Granulators or shapers are used when pastes or clod-shaped products need to be brought into an aerated form for efficient drying.
Different systems are used depending on the product properties.
Field of application
The swing beam granulator is used for shaping and dosing pasty to stiff pasty products.

Swing beam granulators
Swivel beam granulators are used to press pastes and filter cakes into a uniform shape. This creates an aeratable bulk material that can be dried efficiently. Thixotropic products can also be pressed into strand pellets in this way. Swing beam pelletizers are operated together with an upstream box or hopper feeder or with a swing belt.
For pelletizing, the product is pressed almost vertically through a perforated plate. Corresponds to the functional principle of a spaetzle press.
Hydraulic swivel drives are used as the drive.

Swivel press
The swivel press can press pastes and filter cakes into a uniform shape and thus produce an aerated bulk material. Due to its design, the swivel press only requires an upstream hopper from which the product to be granulated slides down.

Paste press
The paste press presses filter cake evenly through a perforated plate trough into a uniform strand shape. The filter cake may already be relatively dry.

Nibbler
Nibblers shred solid, relatively dry filter cake.
Nibblers are used when no shaped granulate is required or when the product is so stable after shredding that it can be distributed on the dryer belt using a swivel belt or other distribution device.

Trials
The selection of the suitable pelletizer and the optimum pellet size is carried out by means of tests in our technical centre. Various manual or semi-automatic pelletizers are available for the individual pelletizing principles.
